Another big ticket fight has just been added to the UFC 244 card with the announcement of a welterweight bout betwen top contenders Stephen Tompson and Vicente Luque.

Thompson (14-4-1) is coming off two heartbreaking losses. After a decision loss to Darren Till in May 2018, Thompson suffered a shocking knockout at the hands of Anthony Pettis in their main event at UFC Nashville in March. The 36-year-old, a former two-time UFC title challenger, is still the No. 9 ranked fighter in the division, though, and will look to get back into the win column.

It won't be easy though as his opponent, Vicente Luque (17-6-1) is riding a seven-fight win streak. The No. 14-ranked welterweight has wins over Mike Perry, Derrick Krantz, and Bryan Barberena this year alone.

UFC 244 is shaping up to be a massive card, featuring Derrck Lewis vs Blagoy Ivanov, Corey Anderson vs Johnny Walker, Kelvin Gastelum vs Darren Till, and now this. The event will be headlined by Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz fighting for the "BMF" title.
