For three rounds, surging welterweight Dhiego Lima outfought fellow welterweight Luke Jumeau. He was well on his way to what as almost certainly a unanimous decision win, except not all of the judges saw it that way.

Lima did score his third-straight victory at UFC 243, but it was much closer than anyone had anticipated. The judges scored it 29-28, 28-29, 29-28, to give Lima the split decision win.

While the fight didn't feature much action, it was clear to anyone watching that Lima dominated. Several thudding leg kicks kept Jumeau neutralized for much of the fight. And while there were a few moments throughout the fight where both welterweights traded heavy blows, it was largely a tactical stick-and-move approach by Lima that led to his hard-fought victory.

Dhiego Lima has now one three-straight fights and sits at 17-7. Luke Jumeau falls to 13-5.
