This Saturday, former Lightweight and Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor makes his return to the octagon to fight Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

The former double champion is looking to get back into the win column after losing his Lightweight Championship bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. The “Cowboy” himself is in need of a victory, as Cerrone lost to both Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson in his last two fights.

Since their time away from the octagon, both fighters have traveled a different path that led up to the huge match-up in Las Vegas. For McGregor, he’s been dealing with a lot of issues that has hurt his public image, and while winning his match-up against Cerrone won’t change his brush with the law, it is a step towards another possible rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

For Cerrone, many are skeptical about the Colorado native’s skills inside the ring, and while a win over Conor McGregor won’t skyrocket him into title contention, a victory over one of the best athletes in MMA will surely silence his doubters about his in-ring skill.

The UFC 246 Countdown video follows both men as they train towards their main event encounter this Saturday. Check out the mini-documentary below:
