Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway II will finally take place this weekend.
After reigning supreme over the featherweight division for nearly three years, Max Holloway finally dropped the belt to a man who hasn’t lost a fight in over five years. Arguably one of the best 145-pound fighters of this generation, Holloway has beaten top tier names such as José Aldo, Brian Ortega, and Frankie Edgar; however, Volkanovski proved that he was the future of the featherweight division.
Despite his decisive win over Holloway, Volkanovski wants to cement that he’s truly the top 145-pound fighter by knocking out Holloway, who hasn't suffered a KO loss in his ten-year career. On the other hand, the former UFC Featherweight Champion is looking to reclaim his spot on the top of the mountain by beating the Australian fighter on July 11.
