This Saturday, the next challenger for the UFC Middleweight title challenger will be determined.
In the co-main event, former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker has the opportunity to get another shot at the prestigious 185-pound belt; however, Jared Cannonier stands in his way.
Cannonier has been making waves in the middleweight division since his debut against David Branch at UFC 230. The 36-year-old then went on to beat the longest reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and Jack Hermansson.
UFC 254 will be the biggest fight of Cannonier’s career thus far as the rising star is set fight a man that was on a strong nine-fight winning streak. Since making the transition over to the division in 2014, Whittaker had rose through the ranks by dropping big names such as Uriah Hall, Derek Brunson, and Ronaldo Souza before beating Yoel Romero to win the 185-pound belt.
Both men are surely hungry to become the next challenger for Israel Adesanya’s UFC Middleweight Championship and the five-round co-main event should highly entertain. Check out the training regime for both Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier for UFC 254:
