It might be time to rename the Von Flue chokes to the "Saint Preux Choke." There have been a total of six Von Flue chokes in the UFC, and now Ovince Saint Preux has four of them.
The veteran light heavyweight ended Michael Oleksiejczuk 12-fight winning streak by locking in the rare submission in the second round. An underdog heading into the fight, Ovince Saint Preux survived an aggressive first-round attack by Oleksiejczuk but looked much more calm and composed in round two. With the fight taken to the mat midway through the round, Saint Preux worked a fatigued Oleksiejczuk to lock in the submission and force the tap.
The loss ends Oleksiejczuk's 12-fight win streak dating all the way back to 2015. He's now 2-1 with 1 NC since joining the UFC in 2017. Ovince Saint Preux snapped his own two-fight losing streak and now has a record of 24-13. He is now tied for the most wins by submission in the UFC lightweight division with five, joining Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira, and Misha Cirkunov.
