It appears that after over ten years in mixed martial arts, Chad Mendes has decided to hang up the gloves on his career. Mendes lost his UFC 232 bout against Alexander Volkanovski via second-round TKO.

The news was reported by journalist Farah Hannoun via Twitter.

Back in July, Mendes returned to the octagon after his two-and-a-half-year suspension and defeated Myles Jury on July 14, 2018 at UFC Fight Night 133. He won the fight via TKO in the first round and earned the Performance of the Night award.

The MMA veteran has been in the octagon with the likes of Conor McGregor, Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, and Clay Guida throughout his time in the company and has produced several memorable fights along the way. The UFC Featherweight finishes his career with 18 wins and 5 losses.
