The final show that was headlined with a heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris averaged 1.198 million viewers, according to Showbuzz Daily. The event also featured Claudia Gadelha snapping Angela Hill’s three-fight winning streak, Dan Ige’s win over Edson Barboza, and Song Yadong and Marlon Vera clash in the best fight of the evening.
In terms of the preliminary event, the six-fight line-up drew an average of 690,00 viewers. The prelims saw Miguel Baeza knockout “Immortal” Matt Brown, Kevin Holland beat Anthony Hernandez, and Giga Chikadze extend his winning streak to five by getting a unanimous decision win over Irwin Rivera.
The UFC had a very successful week as UFC 249 reportedly got over 700,000 plus buys, the second best pay-per-view number in 2020 thus far. At the moment, there’s no word on how much UFC Fight Night: Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira pulled in last Wednesday.
The next event for UFC will be on May 30th, where former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will take on Gilbert Burns in the main event. Also on the card, Blagoy Ivanov vs. Augusto Sakai (heavyweight bout), Hannah Cifers vs. Mackenzie Dern (strawweight bout), and Klidson Abreu vs. Jamahal Hill (light heavyweight bout).
