Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz is now a fighter for Combate Americas.
The UFC Hall of famer officially signed his contract while in the crowd at last nights Combate America’s 35 card, which was recorded and posted on Instagram. Ortiz can heard saying during the video (transcript courtesy of
MMA Fighting):
“I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to kick some f*cking ass. I’m back!!! Let’s have some fun.”
The news of Tito Ortiz returning to the octagon is not much of a surprise as the former UFC star recently stated that he was planning on fighting sometime in October, though Ortiz never specified which promotion he’ll be fighting under.
Despite only having two matches in three years, Ortiz has a nice two-fight win streak going as “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” defeated fellow UFC Hall of famer Chuck Liddell last November. His other win was against Chael Sonnen under the Bellator banner. The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion walks into the promotion with a professional record of 20 wins, 12 losses, and 1 no contest.
There is no word yet on when Ortiz is going to be making his promotional debut or whom that bout will come against.
