Should Stipe Miocic get the first shot at Brock Lesnar?
Since it was confirmed that the former WWE Champion’s contract expired from the promotion recently, several big names in the MMA have called out Lesnar, including former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
It wasn’t the first time that Jones called out the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and many have gotten excited over the possibility of a Jon Jones vs. Brock Lesnar fight. However, one man feels that the “Beast Incarnate” should be fighting him instead, which is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic.
On Michael Bisping’s “Believe You Me” podcast, the veteran believes that he should get the first shot at Lesnar, if he decides to make his return to the UFC,"A hundred percent I think so," Miocic said. "If anything, I would get the Brock Lesnar fight first or be asked first. I didn't know (Jones) called the shots. I didn't know that."
Miocic came close to fighting the 43-year-old in 2018 as Lesnar was originally tapped to fight the winner of the first Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier match. Going in, Miocic was the 235-pound champion; however, Cormier pulled off a KO victory in the first round. Ultimately, the potential heavyweight bout between Lesnar and Cormier was scrapped once the former decided to stay with the WWE.
At the moment, all signs point to Lesnar returning to the WWE eventually. White has previously stated that he hasn't talked to Lesnar since 2018 and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion has shown no signs of potentially going back over to UFC.
