A light heavyweight contest has been added to the fight night card on August 29 as Anthony Smith will take on Aleksander Rakic.

Smith is coming off a lopsided loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 171. Despite the crushing defeat, the light heavyweight has managed to win four out of his last six fights, dropping Alexander Gustafsson (via submission at UFC Fight Night 153), Rashad Evans (via knockout at UFC 225), Maurício Rua (via knockout at UFC Fight Night 134), and Volkan Oezdemir (via submission at UFC Fight Night 138). Smith’s professional record currently stands at 33 wins and 15 losses.

Rakic suffered his first UFC loss against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night 165. The light heavyweight came into that bout on a massive 12-fight winning streak, with five of those victories coming within the promotion. The 28-year-old has managed to drop Devin Clark (UFC 231) and Jimi Manuwa (UFC Fight Night 153) by TKO, with his wins over Francimar Barroso (UFC Fight Night 115) and Justin Ledet (UFC Fight Night 134) coming by way of unanimous decision. Rakic’s professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 2 losses.

The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, August 29 from a location to be announced with no main event announced at this time.
