Khabib Nurmagomedov fired back at the former UFC Lightweight Champion.
Two days ago, Conor McGregor randomly fired shots at both the Lightweight Champion and Justin Gaethje. The former two-division champion stated that Khabib was “hiding like a rat” and a overall “embarrassment” to the 155-pound division.
Gaethje has decided to ignore McGregor; however, the Lightweight Champion savagely fired back at McGregor and it all comes down to Nurmagomedov out performing the 31-year-old at UFC 229:
Nurmagomedov also mocked McGregor’s comment about the Lightweight Champion being “a man that hugs legs”:
McGregor has yet to respond to Khabib’s comments. The rivalry between the two fighters has been well documented since the bus attack on media day prior to UFC 223. Following his win over Donald Cerrone back in January, both McGregor and White were pushing for a rematch between the two down the line, but Nurmagomedov made it clear that he wasn’t interested in fighting the former two-division champion anytime soon.
With Gaethje set to challenge Nurmagomedov soon, White is fully behind the fight, which could take place in July on fight island:
“Any time Conor McGregor is fighting, it’s exciting, but yeah, I’m very excited for Gaethje versus Khabib. I think stylistically it’s a great matchup. I’m looking forward to it,” White told ESPN 1000 Chicago.
