Eyes were opened last weekend when middleweight Kelvin Gastelum defeated former middleweight champion Michael Bisping via knockout in round 1. While many question whether or not Bisping should have been allowed to fight three weeks after going toe to toe with Georges St-Pierre, the win for Gastelum is still huge and now the fighter looks for gold. However, he hopes to take that interim championship away from Robert Whittaker:

“Anything can happen in the sport of MMA, you know. I feel like Robert Whittaker and I should be next. We’re two young guys who haven’t even hit our prime yet, and I just beat the guy who was the guy so I think I should be next.”

Whether we'll get a match between Gastelum and Whittaker, in which rumor has it would be facing the GSP next, is up in the air, but one thing is for sure, Kelvin Gastelum is someone to watch out for.
