A middleweight fight is set for August as Yoel Romero is expected to take on Uriah Hall, according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN. The fight hasn’t officially been set for a line-up just yet.
Coming off his UFC Middleweight title loss against Israel Adesanya at UFC 248, Yoel Romero is now on a three-fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Robert Whittaker (via unanimous decision at UFC 225) and Paulo Costa (via unanimous decision at UFC 241). The MMA veteran does have wins over Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold in his last six fights. Romero’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 5 losses.
Hall is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak as the middleweight has secured wins over Bevon Lewis (via KO at UFC 232) and Antonio Carlos Jr (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 158). The 35-year-old has won three out of his last five fights, though his losses to Paulo Costa and Gegard Mousasi have knocked him down in the rankings. Hall’s professional record currently stands at 15 wins and 9 losses.
The middleweight bout will take place sometime in August on either the UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana show on August 1 or UFC 252 on August 15.
