Looking to make a name for himself in the competitive light heavyweight division, Alonzo Menifield took care of business at UFC Minneapolis. Entering Saturday night's fight against Paul Craig with a perfect record, he left the Octagon with the likelihood of a number next to his name in the division rankings.
Menifield took full advantage of a sloppy kick from Paul Craig and made him pay. MIdway through the first round, Craig attempted a headkick but was caught by Menifield and dropped to the map. Turned around, Craig was unable to defend a quick strike from Menifield and was knocked out with a powerful punch to the jaw. Menifield landed a few more punches before the ref stepped in.
Menifield previously defeated Vinicius Moreira by TKO in the first round of the preliminary card for UFC Fight Night 143. With a perfect 9-0 record, he will likely enter the light heavyweight rankings in the UFC and can probably look forward to facing some stiffer competition next.
