There's no shortage of talent in the UFC lightweight division, but up and comer Nasrat Haqparast is starting to turn some heads.
On Saturday, the 22-year-old knocked out Joaquim Silva in the second round, earning his third-straight UFC win and first stoppage in the Octagon.
With the legendary Georges St-Pierre in his corner, Haqparast put on an impressive performance, countering Silva 's aggressive start. The match featured plenty of high-level striking, but it was Haqparast who connected with a vicious left hook early in the second round that sent Silva to the canvas. Haqparast immediately pounced on his downed opponent and threw a few more powerful strikes before referee Keith Peterson stopped teh bout at the 36-second mark of round two.
Haqparast (11-2) earned his third straight UFC win since his debut loss in 2017.
