Heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes put on another dominant performance inside the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 166 and now believes he has earned a shot at the heavyweight title. Blaydes defeated Junior Dos Santos in the main event of UFC Raleigh, scoring a TKO victory in the second round.

Blaydes went into the fight looking for takedowns, but after multiple failed attempts in the first round, he switched up his approach in the second. Dos Santos' tendency to throw lead uppercuts left him vulnerable to a straight right hand from Blaydes that stunned the former world champion.

Though he remained on his feet, Dos Santos was clearly out of it and after a barrage of unanswered blows, referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in to called the fight at 1:06 in round two.

It was Blaydes' third win in a row as he pushed his record to 13-2 with 1 no contest. Following the victory, he expressed his desire for a title shot, which many believe he has now earned after beating the No. 4-ranked Dos Santos.
