Heavyweight contender Sergei Pavlovich reminded the UFC and MMA world why he's so dangerous.
The 26-year-old Russian heavyweight contender, who dropped his debut to Alistair Overeem back in November, showcased his power at UFC St. Petersburg on Saturday; he knocked out Brazilian Marcelo Golm in just 66 seconds.
In an excellent display of power and accuracy, Pavlovich landed a devastating right overhand shot that sent Golm stumbling backwards. Pavlovich followed it up with a brutal combination before connecting with a powerful uppercut that ended the fight.
It was a quick night, so there's only one real highlight worth watching - the finish.
In addition to earning his first win in the UFC, Pavolovich also took home an extra $50,000 for Performance of the Night. Pavlovich is now 13-1 professionally with a 1-1 record in the UFC.
“I never force (the knockout),” Pavlovich said after the fight.
“But after my last fight in one week I came back to training and was working hard and you can see the result today.”
