Back in 2013, Conor McGregor made his official debut for the UFC.
Prior to his debut for the promotion, the former two-division champion was a big star down in Cage Warriors, with the Ireland native not only winning the Lightweight Championship, but also the Featherweight title while still holding onto the 155-pound belt.
Still, despite being on an eight-fight winning streak and a two-division champion, McGregor was unknown to the UFC audience. No one could’ve predicted that the 31-year-old would go on to become one of the top stars in MMA within a five-year timespan; however, based on McGregor's stats, him winning the UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Championships isn’t much of a surprise.
Before becoming a global sensation, check out Conor McGregor vs. Marcus Brimage at UFC Fight Night Stockholm. That card also featured Ross Pearson taking on Ryan Couture, with the main event being a lightweight heavyweight bout between Gegard Mousasi and Ilir Latifi.
