A new light heavyweight bout has been confirmed for the fight night card on Oct. 17 as Volkan Oezdemir will take on Nikita Krylov.
Oezdemir is coming off a loss to Jiri Prochazka that snapped his two-fight winning streak going in. The light heavyweight has managed to beat Ilir Latifi (via KO at UFC Fight Night 156) and Aleksandar Rakić (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 165) in his last five fights, though his losses to Daniel Cormier (via TKO at UFC 220), Anthony Smith (via submission at UFC Fight Night 138), and Dominick Reyes (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 147) have kept him out of the top 5 rankings. Oezdemir’s professional record currently stands at 17 wins and 5 losses.
Nikita Krylov is coming off a unanimous decision win over Johnny Walker at UFC Fight Night 170. The light heavyweight’s record in his last five fights is a mixed bag, with Krylov also getting an impressive submission victory over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 236. His professional record currently stands at 26 wins and 7 losses.
Oezdemir vs. Krylov will be the co-main event for the Oct. 17 show with the featherweight bout between Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Check out the updated line-up below:
