It appears as if Brock Lesnar's mixed martial arts career is finally at an end. Yesterday, a UFC spokesperson confirmed to MMA Fighting that he's told the company he intends to retire, and after what happened in 2016, this new probably won't come as a major surprise. It was back in 2011 that Lesnar walked away from the Octagon for the first time, but he made a surprise return at UFC 200 last July when he squared off with Mark Hunt.

However, that victory would be mired in controversy after Lesnar tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, something which led to the Nevada Athletic Commission overturning the result of that fight and suspending him for a year. The United States Anti-Doping Agency would go on to do the same, though Lesnar has maintained that he took no illegal substances or knowingly used PEDs.

By the time he's eligible to fight again, Lesnar will be pushing 40, and given the huge amount of money he's making in WWE, it's easy to understand why he's moving on from MMA. Regardless of how his career ended in UFC, he'll forever go down as one of the company's biggest stars and someone who made the seemingly impossible transition from professional wrestling to MMA. That ensures his legacy will be long remembered!
