A heavyweight contest has been made official for October 3 as Yorgan De Castro will take on Carlos Felipe at the fight night event.
Castro’s six-fight winning streak was snapped when Greg Hardy beat him via unanimous decision at UFC 249. Despite his recent setback, the heavyweight has had a solid start to his UFC career thus far by dropping Sanford Alton Meeks and Justin Tafa. The 33-year-old’s other victories come from his time in Classic Entertainment and Sports and New England Fights. Castro’s professional record currently stands at 6 wins and 1 loss.
Felipe is hoping to rebound from his decision loss to Sergey Spivak at UFC Fight Night 172. The Heavyweight was in the midst of a strong eight-fight winning streak before his UFC debut, with Felipe getting wins during his time in Shooto Brazil, Full House, and Fight On MMA. The 25-year-old managed to get impressive victories over top names such as Paulo Cesar Almeida (via TKO at Fight On MMA - Fight On 4) and Fernando Batista (via TKO at Full House - Battle Home 9). Felipe’s professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 1 loss.
The heavyweight match-up joins the fight night card that includes a bantamweight bout between Julianna Pena and Germaine de Randamie. Thus far, a location has yet to be announced for the upcoming event.
