A big featherweight match-up was added to the fight night card on August 29 as Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Yair Rodriguez is confirmed for the event.

Magomedsharipov’s win over Calvin Kattar extended the featherweight’s UFC winning streak to six, with the 29-year-old also defeating top prospects Jeremy Stephens (via unanimous decision at UFC 235) and Kyle Bochniak (via unanimous decision at UFC 223). Magomedsharipov hasn’t lost a fight since 2013, with his professional record currently standing at 18 wins and 1 loss.

Rodriguez is coming off an impressive win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC on ESPN 6. Despite his loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC 211, the featherweight has managed to win four out of last five fights, also dropping Chan Sung Jung (via KO at UFC Fight Night 139) and former UFC Lightweight and Welterweight Champion BJ Penn (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 103). Rodriguez’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.

The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, August 29 with a location and main event set to be announced soon. The placement of the featherweight bout has yet to be confirmed.
