Next week's episode of WWE NXT will feature several matches that will determine who is next in line for some title shots, and will include talent from a multitude of different rosters for a jam-packed edition.
TNA Wrestling's World Champion Joe Hendry will be in action as part of a six-man tag team match where he'll team with the NXT tag team champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger to face three members of DarkState. Those three members have yet to be announced, as per usual. This came about after Hendry was attacked by DarkState on tonight's episode, and later told by Hank and Tank that if he would need some help in fighting them off, that they'd have his back.
Hendry was a talking point for Trick Williams, who attacked him at the end of TNA Rebellion this past Sunday night. Williams cut a promo about how he still wants to have his one-on-one match with Oba Femi to try to regain the NXT Championship, and was interrupted by NXT General Manager Ava, who announced that he'd have to earn it by going through 24 other Superstars as next week, there will be a 25-Man Battle Royal to determine who faces Femi for that title at the next NXT-based premium live event, WWE Battleground, set to go down on May 25, 2025.
Interestingly, throughout the night, it was revealed that this battle royal will include not just wrestlers from NXT, but expand to include talent from TNA, WWE EVOLVE, and WWE LFG.
The Undertaker showed up to hype the LFG side of it, along with Jasper Troy, Anthony Luke, and Shiloh Hill. In the graphic promoting the match, interestingly, Chris Island was shown, but not Troy or Luke. Strangely, no TNA wrestlers were put in the graphic, either.
While this promotional image does not in any way make WWE beholden to just these names, if you're wondering who is on there, here is the full list:
Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, Myles Borne, Lexis King, Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson DuPont, Eddy Thorpe, Shiloh Hill, Chris Island, Je'Von Evans, Ridge Holland, Shawn Spears, Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance, Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes), Timothy Thatcher, Ethan Page, "Super" Sean Legacy, Josh Briggs, Yoshiki Inamura, and Trick Williams.
Stephanie Vaquer will also find out who her opponent is for Battleground as Jordynne Grace and Giulia face off in a No. 1 contender's match for a shot at the NXT Women's Championship.
Meanwhile, Kelani Jordan seeks to beat ZARIA in order to put her name in the hat as the next challenger for Sol Ruca's NXT Women's North American Championship, though that has not been specified as a Battleground match, nor an official #1 contender's bout.
Recapping what's been currently announced, here is your lineup for next week's episode of NXT:
- 25-Man No. 1 Contender's Battle Royal
- NXT Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's Match: Giulia vs. Jordynne Grace
