It appears a new name has been revealed for this year's WWE Hall of Fame class. According to Fightful Select, former WWE and ECW Champion Rob Van Dam will be the next inductee announced for 2021.
His last WWE run was back in 2014, and he then spent quite a few years on the Indies before making the leap to IMPACT Wrestling. There, RVD has made headlines for being part of a "thruple," and proved to be one of the most entertaining parts of the company until his departure last year.
Van Dam has already been confirmed for an upcoming episode of the WWE Icons documentary, so this news perhaps shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. During his runs with WWE, he held the WWE, Intercontinental, European, Tag Team, and Hardcore titles. He's also one of the best wrestlers to ever step between the ropes, so this is one induction we can get 100% behind.
The 2020 inductees include John "Bradshaw" Layfield, "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, Jushin "Thunder" Liger, the NWO (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman), and The Bella Twins. So far, only Molly Holly and Eric Bischoff have been announced for the 2021 class.
This year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 6th.
Here's to you, Rob...
