During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked by a caller about some of the current WWE Superstars who might be considering making the leap to All Elite Wrestling when their current contracts expire.
He was specifically asked about Roman Reigns, Ricochet, Will Ospreay, Kota Ibushi, and Don Callis after Chris Jericho mentioned them on his "Saturday Night Special" YouTube series as people he would be excited to see join him on Dynamite every Wednesday night.
"Roman Reigns is not going to AEW, not happening," Meltzer started. "Of all of the guys, virtually everybody in WWE including guys who have claimed different, at one point or another have called people in AEW trying to see what they can get or have had an interest. Roman Reigns and there’s a couple of others but Roman Reigns is basically, of the top guys, he was the only one who never even inquired so he ain’t going anywhere."
Last year, we heard that Randy Orton has made enquiries with AEW, though it was believed that was just a way for The Viper to secure a more lucrative deal with WWE. Edge, meanwhile, seriously considered heading there before being convinced to return "home."
Meltzer would later add that he's not sure where things stand with Ricochet, but that Ospreay is under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and that it would be up to Tony Khan and Harold Meij to make a deal if they want that to happen. As for Callis, that's reportedly unlikely.
What do you guys think?
