During SmackDown on Friday night, it was revealed that Bray Wyatt/The Fiend will defend the Universal Championship against Goldberg at the upcoming Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia. However, while the WWE Hall of Famer has declared that his opponent is "Next," it doesn't sound like he'll be walking out with the title.
While there's been speculation among fans that WWE could be planning on having Goldberg defend the title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, Dave Meltzer has noted on the Wrestling Observer forum that, as of right now, the plan is for The Big Dog to take on Wyatt.
In other words, Goldberg will not be winning at Super ShowDown and while it's possible that there will be a disqualification or no-contest finish in order to protect the WCW icon's mystique, don't be surprised if he ends up becoming another victim of The Fiend. That's going to be fun to see, as these two make for an unexpected pairing in the squared circle.
How do you guys hope things play out?
