A report from
fightful.com confirms that Mustafa Ali will not be competing inside the Elimination Chamber match this Sunday.
The former 205 Live star has been dealing with injuries going back to the Royal Rumble. Ali was working through an injured tailbone that flared up at the big four pay-per-view and the newest member of the Smackdown roster continued to work through the injury, but unfortunately a show on Sunday’s live event was the final nail in the coffin.
Ali’s eye was swollen after sitting up into Randy Orton’s boot on the Garvin Stomp. While the injury was indeed nasty, Ali was still good to compete until the injury worsened on Sunday.
Ali has reportedly told officials that he’s good to go for the Elimination Chamber, but management is being very cautious. The plan is for WWE to run a storyline that blames Randy Orton for the injuries, but as of now there’s no report on who a potential replacement for Ali might be.
