As previously stated, Vince McMahon himself called a meeting with Cass backstage, and personally released the seven-foot superstar from his contract. It was a culmination of several incidents that resulted in the end of his WWE career.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cass losing in two back-to-back matches against Daniel Bryan was never the original plan. The changes were actually made as a punishment in reaction to the “little person incident”.

In addition, the Observer is reporting that a few weeks ago Kevin Dunn asked for some time to go over a promo with Cass, which the wrestler allegedly blew off. Not only that, but Cass then ran really long when delivering the un-rehearsed promo on live television. Vince McMahon apparently hated the segment so much that he fired the writer behind it.

In the end, Big Cass ultimately spelled his own doom. Blowing off a high-level executive, behavioral issues during the recent European Tour, combined with multiple other issues.
