Wrestling Observer Radio recently caught up with All Elite Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley, and the former WWE Superstar shared his thoughts on the introduction of WWE ThunderDome. That was first used during last night's episode of SmackDown and, well, it's fair to say the response from fans has been mixed thus far.
For what it's worth, the man once known as Dean Ambrose believes that this won't solve WWE's problem. "[We] know what their problem is, it’s one person three letters VKM," he started. "That’s the problem until he’s gone it or relinquishes control, it’s just not gonna change. When I watched the show during the pandemic era, I’m just like, 'Oh, thank God I’m not there.' Jesus Christ, what would I be doing on that show right now?"
Moxley went on to compare ThunderDome to a giant Zoom call, but was quick to point out that he wants WWE to do well. "[It] kind of pisses me off because they’re the number one brand in the sport. They represent the sport to a lot of people and when their product is like embarrassing to watch, it makes all of wrestling look bad."
It is true that WWE has become somewhat embarrassing to watch in recent years, and a bunch of random faces in the background isn't going to help matters, especially with that piped in crowd noise.
What do you guys think?
