AEW's Matt Hardy Comments On His Brother Jeff's Controversial Angle With Sheamus On SMACKDOWN

The current SmackDown storyline involving Sheamus dredging up Jeff Hardy's drug and alcohol issues has come in for a lot of controversy, with many fans under the impression that WWE is cashing in on the Charismatic Enigma's real-life demons in a very tasteless manner.

We've seen similar angles in the past, of course, but in the current climate this has been perceived as a cheap and classless way to get heat.

Now, Jeff's brother Matt Hardy, who is currently working for AEW, has responded to a fan over Twitter with his take on the angle.

Matt follows up by pointing out that Jeff wouldn't do anything that he felt uncomfortable with, but it sounds like he may be under the impression that WWE is pressurizing his brother to be part of this storyline.

Jeff is scheduled to face Sheamus in a "Bar Fight" at some point (possibly at Extreme Rules), so that should, mercifully, put an end to this feud.
