Aiden English Joins The Announce Team Of 205 Live Through WRESTLEMANIA Season

We haven't seen Aiden English on SmackDown Live for quite some time now but the former tag team partner of Rusev is seemingly transitioning into a very different role as he joins 205 Live as a commentator.

Well, this is unexpected! WWE has announced a new member of the 205 Live commentary team and it's none other than SmackDown Live Superstar Aiden English. He will join Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness as a "guest commentator" during Wrestlemania season and while he will continue to compete, it sounds like this could be a way of WWE testing the waters for him to take on a new role.

"The McMahons have been shaking things up on Raw and SmackDown LIVE, so I’m going to follow suit," 205 Live GM Drake Maverick said. "Aiden English is an active Superstar and is very opinionated, and I believe those opinions and perspective will add to the current commentary team, only adding to the entertainment value of The Most Exciting Hour of Television."

Michael Cole added that they wanted to do something special for WrestleMania season and he decided to offer English the role after they worked together at the Performance Center. While it's said that he's still an active member of the roster, English hasn't actually been seen on TV since his feud with Rusev and it doesn't seem as if WWE had any immediate plans for him moving forward.
