The Young Bucks' Matt Jackson recently spoke about how close Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson came to debuting for AEW during the first episode of Dynamite along with "another Bullet Club person who you may not want to talk about." Most fans assumed he was referring to current WWE SmackDown star AJ Styles, and The Phenomenal One himself has now confirmed it.
Here's what Styles had to say while discussing the possibility of jumping ship to AEW during his latest Twitch stream.
"Yeah, there were talks. Look, it’s a business. My contract in WWE was going to expire and there were talks happening. The Bucks are my buddies. We never discussed money or anything, but there were talks about coming in. Again, it’s all business.”
AJ ultimately decided to stay put and is said to have signed a lucrative 5-year deal with WWE last year. The former Intercontinental Champion recently indicated that he plans to retire once this current contract is up, which means we may see Styles hand up his boots for good in a little over three years.
The Good Brothers, meanwhile recently debuted for IMPACT Wrestling, so we'll probably never get to see that Bullet Club reunion.
