Surprising not a soul, AJ is still Intercontinental Champion after seeing off the challenge of Drew Gulak on Friday Night SmackDown.

The Philadelphia Stretcher actually scored a singles victory over Styles a couple of weeks before he won the title in the finals of the IC Championship Tournament against Daniel Bryan, but the talented Superstars was unable to repeat that success last night. Gulak gave it his all and managed to take The Phenomenal One off his game with some well placed strikes and grapples, but in the end AJ's years of experience simply proved too much to overcome.

Styles caught Gulak on a dropkick attempt and his a powerbomb followed quickly by a Styles Clash. He then picked up his lifeless opponent, set him up on the ropes and finished him off with a Phenomenal Forearm.

A decent bout, but it would have been nice to see Drew get a little more offence in during the finish. Who will emerge as the next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship? Our money's on Matt Riddle.
