AJ Styles is the new United States Champion after defeating Ricochet at Extreme Rules.
The Phenomenal One and The One and Only had another very good match (even if it didn't quite live up to expectations) with several near falls, but in the end the ringside presence of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson proved to be Ricochet's undoing as constant distractions and interference led to AJ hitting a Styles Clash from the middle rope to become the 3-time US Champ.
Like Balor's IC Title run, Ricochet's US reign proved to be very underwhelming, and it doesn't look like WWE intends to elevate the status of either title by giving one specific Superstar a lengthy run with some high-profile matches near the top of the card.
At any rate, The Club stands tall, and you can expect The Good Brothers to zero in on tag-team gold very soon.
