WWE is a billion dollar company and while things are looking good for All Elite Wrestling, the company has a long way to go before it can be a true rival to Vince McMahon's company. Now, former WWE Champion AJ Styles has shared his thoughts on why companies like that (he never mentions them by name) shouldn't try to compete with them.
"As far as the indies and whatnot, I don’t think they should ever be competitive with the WWE," Styles said. "They should compete with themselves to make sure they get better everyday because there’s no competition, if you want me to be honest. WWE is globally huge. It’s unbelievable to know how big the WWE is. People don’t understand it."
While some fans may disagree, Styles clarified those remarks by adding: "If you want to succeed, don’t compete. Be something different, be the alternative. There’s a lot of people that have a good chance, but competition is always a great thing. I hope any company does well so they can be that competition. Competition will always make a better product."
These are very interesting remarks and AEW definitely stands a better chance of finding success if they try to be their own thing - and an alternative - rather than direct competition (that didn't work out particularly well for TNA when they tried to be WWE-lite).
What do you guys think?
