United States Champion AJ Styles recently sat down with Cathy Kelly for an interview on WWE Now. Among the topics that came up was the fact that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels turned down a match with him a few years ago (they were rumoured to square off at
WrestleMania).
"I asked Shawn [about a match] and he said ‘No,'" Styles reveals. "Well, That’s on Shawn, guys. I can’t do anything about that. I would love to opportunity to do that match."
Styles went on to note that he understands why Michaels said that at the time but admitted that he was shocked when HBK later came out of retirement at Crown Jewel to team up with Triple H against The Undertaker and Kane.
