At WrestleMania, AJ Styles and Omos defeated The New Day to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions. We've not seen them on Monday nights since, with rumours pointing to a COVID outbreak being the reason why. However, during today's edition of WWE's The Bump, the Phenomenal One claimed they've been in Nigeria visiting Omos' friends and family.
"I mean even Vince McMahon couldn’t tell us no when we [said], ‘Hey, we need your jet. We’re going to Nigeria,'" Styles claimed. "You know what he said? ‘Um, sure, ’cause you’re the tag team champions.’ We’re unstoppable." The confident former WWE Champion also addressed their future as a team.
"We don’t have the bullseye on anyone. We have the bullseye on us," Styles added after Omos said The New Day are now at the back of the line. "You’ve got to come after us. If you want some, come get some. It’s that easy!"
Styles also addressed comparisons to Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels. "If we’re going to compare, I think that’s a pretty good comparison. Is it the exact? No. We’re so much more than Kevin Nash or Shawn Michaels were. We are the RAW Tag Team Champions. The sky is the limit. Whatever championship we want, we will get. That’s a promise!"
He concluded by saying, "We’ll be back next week, ready to party! We are ready to party in the ring!"
So, stay tuned to RAW this Monday as it seems this unlikely duo will soon be back in action on the show.
