In what may well be a first(?), the WWE Championship will be defended in a 2-on-1 handicap match at the Royal Rumble.

Tonight on SmackDown, Sami Zayn managed to defeat AJ Styles after some outside interference from, by turn, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon. Understandably frustrated, The Phenomenal One asked why the men in charge didn't simply put him in a handicap match against the pair and be done with it, and Bryan was happy to oblige.

Does this confirm a Daniel Bryan heel turn? Putting the babyface champ in that situation certainly seems to suggest as much, but we'll have to wait and see how things shake out.
