Former Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles was one of the more notable Draft picks for Monday Night Raw, and a new report indicates that WWE is planning to pair him up with a "bodyguard."
According to Fightful Select, there's talk of The Phenomenal One joining forces with up-and-comer Jordan Omogbehin, who will serve as his enforcer. That name may not be familiar, but Omogbehin has been featured on Raw several times over the past few months, first as Akira Towzawa's giant ninja, and then as Shane McMahon's Raw Underground doorman.
At over 7 feet tall, the former basketball player certainly cuts an imposing figure, but we've yet to see what he's capable of in the ring. He was part of the same Performance Centre recruit class as Damian Priest, Matt Riddle and Mia Yim two years ago, however, so he should be pretty well trained up at this stage.
The question is, does Styles really need a bodyguard? He's never been portrayed as a your typical chickenshit heel in the past, so it seems a little odd to take his character down this route. There's always a chance this will be more of a team dynamic with Jordan helping him win matches, which would probably work a lot better.
What do you guys make of this potential pairing? Be sure to tune in to Raw later tonight to see if anything develops.
