According to Dave Meltzer, Aleister Black was one of the names in the running to win this year's Royal Rumble match. That means he would have ended up facing Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania (it does, however, seem like a missed opportunity not to pit him against The Fiend).

Meltzer also reveals that Andrade was considered at one point but it's probably for the best that didn't happen seeing as he's now been suspended for thirty days for a Wellness Policy violation.

Paul Heyman is looking to push Andrade, Black, Buddy Murphy, and Drew McIntyre as the top stars on RAW and it's said that the decision to go with McIntyre as the winner was because it's still a little too soon for Black to receive this kind of push.

Do you think WWE made the right decision with this year's Rumble winner?
