Last night's episode of Raw seemingly confirmed plans for some sort of romantic angle involving Seth Rollins' disciple Murphy and Rey Mysterio's daughter Aalyah, and the entire storyline has not gone down very well online.
Murphy just turned 32, and the DMs that Rollins exposed to the Mysterio family during the King's Court segment would seem to suggest that he's courting a 19-year-old. It's only a wrestling storyline, of course, but it's still a somewhat creepy road to go down - especially in the wake of the recent #SpeakingOut Movement, which some have accused WWE of making fun of here.
One Superstar who doesn't seem to have a problem with it is SmackDown's Alexa Bliss, who sent out a since-deleted Tweet encouraging ex boyfriend Murphy to "shoot his shot."
Bliss did later clarify that she didn't actually know how old Aalyah was and was simply trying to support her ex.
How do you guys feel bout the whole Murphy/Aalyah thing? Are people making too big a deal out of a fictional storyline involving two consenting adults, or is WWE being insensitive about some very serious allegations - some of which were levelled at there own stars - here?
