Daniel Bryan failed to relive his WrestleMania 30 victory at this year's Show of Shows, and instead fell to the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns. While he'd go on to feud with the Universal Champion, that storyline culminated in the Leader of the Yes Movement being "banished" from SmackDown after losing to the Big Dog.
We haven't seen him since, but there's been plenty of speculation about his future.
It was initially reported that Bryan might be looking to make some sort of deal with WWE to make it so that he could work some New Japan Pro Wrestling dates. Nothing has come of that, though, leaving us to wonder whether he even intends to wrestle again.
Now, PWInsider.com is reporting that there has been no internal discussions about Bryan returning to WWE, and he's not listed as being part of the active roster. It's possible the plan is for him to make a surprise return now fans are back at the company's shows, but some in WWE believe this is an indication he plans to sign with All Elite Wrestling.
If that happens, it will be a huge win for the company, and a major blow to WWE.
Nothing is confirmed in that respect, though, but it's noted that Bryan hasn't been listed on any licensing or merchandise plans for 2021 - 2022 in WWE (including Mattel's action figures), so we're definitely not banking on seeing him compete for this company right now.
As always, make sure you check back here for updates!
