Last night on Raw, a triple-threat match to determine the new No. 1 contender for Apollo Crews' United States Championship took place, and Andrade emerged victorious.
El Idolo took on Kevin Owens and Angel Garza, and even though Zelina Vega's stablemates teamed up in an attempt to take KO out of the picture at first, things soon broke down when the pin attempts began. Andrade and Garza began fighting on the outside and knocked Vega to the ground, allowing Owens to take advantage and deal out some punishment.
In the end, Kevin managed to hit a Stunner on Garza, but Andrade drop-kicked him out of the way and pinned his "friend," earning an opportunity to regain the US title at Backlash this Sunday. It seems unlikely that the former NXT Champion will win as Crews' reign has just begun, but we should see a terrific match one way or the other.
Here's how the rest of the PPV's card is shaping up:
WWE Championship -- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley
Universal Championship -- Braun Strowman (c) vs. The Miz & John Morrison
Raw Women's Championship -- Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax
WWE Women's Tag-Team Championship Triple-Threat Match -- Bayley and Sasha Banks (c) vs. Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss and The IIconics
Edge vs. Randy Orton in the "Greatest Ever Wrestling Match"
