Ahead of SmackDown Live tonight, WWE has announced today that Carmella will defend her newly won SmackDown Live Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair at Backlash. The Queen is owed a rematch after the former Ms. Money in the Bank cashed in on her during the SmackDown Live after WrestleMania but it's going to be very interesting seeing how this one ends up playing out.

After all, Charlotte having the title would open the door to championship feuds with the likes of The Iconics and Asuka but Carmella does arguably deserve a lengthy run with the belt after her win.

We'll just have to wait and see for now but it's easy to imagine Bille Kay and Peyton Royce getting involved and costing Charlotte the match, especially as they seem to be receiving a fairly sizeable push since hitting the main roster. For now, here's how the card for the upcoming PPV is shaping up:

Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe

WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Seth Rollins vs. The Miz

WWE United States Title Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton

WWE Raw Women’s Title Match: Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss

WWE SmackDown Women’s Title Match: Carmella vs. Charlotte Flair
