Sol Ruca has decided to vacate the WWE Women's Speed Championship, going from a double champion to having no titles within the span of less than a week.

In a backstage segment during the October 28, 2025 edition of WWE NXT, Sol Ruca (accompanied by her tag team partner, Zaria) was in NXT General Manager Ava's office to address her medical situation.

Ava said that while the doctors have said Ruca is making a lot of progress, she's still been advised not to compete or rush stepping back into the ring. It's still unknown when she will be cleared to compete, but it is certainly not now, as she's still even wearing her brace.

Ruca suffered an injury to her leg when ZaRuca fought Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on the October 17th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. There has been some speculation that this is not a legitimate injury, particularly as the specific type of injury she suffered has yet to be revealed.

Ava had previously asked Ruca about vacating both her titles, prior to NXT Halloween Havoc, where she was set to defend against Blake Monroe. Instead, Zaria came up with the idea that she could defend the NXT Women's North American Championship on behalf of Ruca and potentially retain it so she would still be champion by the time she would be able to step back into the ring and defend the title per usual.

Unfortunately, Zaria lost to Monroe, which has obviously upset Ruca, based on her reaction on tonight's episode.

When asked by Ava if she would want someone to defend the Women's Speed Championship on her behalf, Ruca said no. She'd rather the division have a fighting champion, and threw out a comment about how she didn't lose her other title. This upset Zaria, who walked off.

Ava then announced that next week, a tournament will start to crown the next champion for the WWE Speed women's division. At the time of this publication, no other information has been put out as far as who is competing in the tournament, let alone the brackets or when the next champion will be crowned, but we can assume it will probably go down during one of the upcoming NXT Gold Rush specials on November 18th and November 25th.
