WrestleMania Backlash featured a Lumberjack match with zombies surrounding the ring, but Army of the Dead star Dave Bautista most definitely isn't taking credit for one of WWE's worst angles in recent memory.

Damian Priest and The Miz squared off at WrestleMania Backlash in a Lumberjack match, but in a promotional tie-in with Netflix's Army of the Dead, it was zombies surrounding the ring instead of WWE Superstars.

WWE acted as if they were real zombies (the announcers even took refuge elsewhere), though it was a little strange that the undead managed to abide by the rules of the match by only "eating" The Miz and John Morrison after Priest managed to score the victory.

The Miz and Morrison are now, presumably, dead. However, when one fan took aim at Army of the Dead star and former WWE Superstar Batista on social media, he made it clear that he's not willing to take the blame for this baffling angle.

This is on the same level as WCW during its dying days, and likely a result of the WWE Network being part of Peacock. Either way, this was some abysmal booking on WWE's part, and a low point in an otherwise solid, albeit forgettable PPV.
