Cesaro, real name Claudio Castagnoli, is widely considered to be among the very best pro-wrestlers in the world, but for some reason he's never reached main event status in WWE. He's had some success and won several titles, of course, but he's never so much as challenged for the top championships.
Fans have wondered why the Swiss Superman has seemingly been held back in the company for years, and former WWE producer and legendary Four Horsemen member Arn Anderson has now revealed what most of us already figured: Vince McMahon simply doesn't see anything in him.
Here's what The Enforcer had to say (via PWMainia).
“He’s not a favorite guy, as you know, of the front office, for whatever reason that is. They’re the only ones that know because everyone else across the planet seems to think he’s a Superstar. But he continued to get leaned on to stop doing all that stuff [impressive moves] as a heel. It was just too flashy and all that stuff.”
This isn't much of a surprise given McMahon's previous comments on Stone Cold's podcast a couple of years ago, when he said he felt Cesaro simply wasn't connecting to the audience. It was straight bullshit then, and it's straight bullshit now.
Cesaro is currently part of a faction with Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown, but hopefully he will get that long-awaited singles push at some point.
