Asuka's Undefeated Streak Came To A Shocking End At The Hands Of Charlotte Flair At WRESTLEMANIA

Heading into WrestleMania, Asuka was the hot favourite to dethrone Charlotte Flair and become the SmackDown Women's Champion but things played out in a very different manner and you can find out more here...

Asuka deciding to challenge Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania pointed to WWE seeing that match as a bigger draw than if the Empress of Tomorrow had squared off with Alexa Bliss and while many fans were confused about her being sent to SmackDown Live (which would be inevitable if she'd won the title), it seems that was never the plan regardless because her undefeated streak is at an end.

Despite not being beaten for nearly 1000 days, WWE made the decision to have Asuka tap out to Charlotte's patented Figure-Eight Leglock at the Showcase of the Immortals and that was that.

An undefeated streak is a tricky thing to keep going in the world of wrestling (it tends to suck the drama out of matches, for starters) but having Asuka lose could be a sign that Vince McMahon and company either weren't sure about her ability to carry the women's division or that they just want to keep pushing Charlotte. Then again, it may have just been them wanting to shock fans!

It wasn't a predictable WrestleMania, that's for sure, and you can hear Asuka's thoughts on her loss below. Once you've checked that out, weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section.
