Thanks to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we have some interesting backstage news on how much certain WWE Superstars are being paid right now.
Over 80 pro wrestlers have been released by the company since the start of the pandemic, with the reason put down to so-called budget cuts. Well, it seems WWE is still willing pay big money for its top stars because those at the top of the card are said to be making upwards of $5 million per year on guaranteed deals.
That includes Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and Meltzer adds that others are bringing in $2 million, $3 million, and $4 million. Unfortunately, there's no word on who fits into those categories, but you can probably look at the roster and make some educated guesses.
Some likely make even more with merchandise and the like, and it would be interesting seeing what the likes of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson are making in AEW. Why? Well, Tony Khan is a billionaire, but would he be willing to pay enough to tempt the likes of these Reigns and Lesnar to become "All Elite"?
Who knows, but it would be interesting to know how those released by WWE due to "budget cuts" feel about how much someone like Lesnar, who barely wrestles, is earning.
